Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a qualified, dependable and driven mid to senior level Systems/Database Engineer to support an Intelligence Community customer. The GCCS/MIDB Combatant Command Exercise Architecture (CCMD) is a joint effort that will offer a virtual environment with real-world driven scenarios for the war fighter and the Intelligence Community.
The Global Command and Control System (GCCS) is the United States' armed forces DoD joint command and control (C2) system used to provide accurate, complete, and timely information for the operational chain of command for U.S. armed forces. The Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB) is the primary repository for data production and dissemination of military intelligence involving worldwide orders of battle, facilities, command and control networks, targeting, battle damage assessments, futures, and other related information required for strategic assessment and national policy decision-making.
The System/Database Engineering candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks to support the GCCS/MIDB Combatant Command Exercise Architecture (CCMD) program to include day-to-day system administration of the environment’s servers; monitoring and maintaining the current MIDB data replication threads; supporting the installation of CCMD software upgrades; and assisting with maintaining CCMD data quality and releasability.
The candidate requires previous experience as a UNIX and/or Linux administrator of medium to large server networks. System Administration tasking will include building, configuring, installing and maintaining Solaris 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.6 servers; configuring and maintaining RHEL virtual and physical servers; installing, configuring, and monitoring the CCMD software; and installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining the Sybase ASE database and the Wildfly application server COTS to operate at an optimal level. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the current MIDB replication threads; troubleshooting replication data flow and database server issues; assisting MIDB sites with replication installations, upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting; coordinating replication upgrades with the MIDB/GCCS community; and supporting tests of replication scripts and definitions. The candidate should have experience working in a team environment, demonstrate the ability to work independently, and possess the ability to work and communicate with the customer and technical staff at remote sites.
Tasking for this position will be performed in Hawaii and the candidate must possess an active TS/SCI and be Security + Certified. Preference will be given to candidates with previous GCCS and/ or MIDB experience and knowledge of the MIDB data replication architecture including the data cross-domain capabilities. Preference will also be given to candidates with Sybase ASE Administrator and Sybase Replication Server Administrator certifications.
