Job Description
Propulsion Controls Engineerings (PCE) purpose is to provide the highest quality services to meet the needs of our customers while ensuring a safety and beneficial workplace for our employees. PCE has a current opening for a Full:Time Welder Fitter Supervisor, at our Hawaii location.
Job Summary:
Provides oversight, direction, and integration of departmental resources in the support company objectives. Possesses a demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of piping and structural repairs and fabrication and the proper application of all welding and brazing processes. Determines material requirements for repairs. Reads and works from Basic work Specifications and drawings.
Essential Functions:
:Effectively manages assigned personnel, providing the leadership, training and mentoring necessary to enhance repair reliability, capability, and efficiency within his/her department.
:Attends production and progress meetings as required with customer(s), providing accurate, up:to:date, and knowledgeable work status in a clear and concise manner.
:Accurately tracks budgetary impacts and allocation of assigned personnel.
:Schedules and/or serves as departmental representative during necessary QA check points.
:Possesses the ability to accurately write Condition Found Reports, detailing results of inspections, tests, noted discrepancies, and recommendations as necessary to facilitate repairs and/or system or component restoration to proper operations condition.
:Knowledgeable in Navy WAF and Tag Out systems; able to develop, submit, and / or close out WAFS, to include verification and concurrence of all tag out requirements necessary to safely perform work. (Must qualify in company lockout tag out program.)
:Able to effectively read and comprehend work specifications, technical manuals and standards and drawings.
:Must be able to verify all job sites are properly set up with qualified personnel, correct procedures, proper equipment, safety and housekeeping.
:Demonstrated knowledge of all welding procedures (FCAW, SMAW, GTAW and GMAW and BRAZE).
:Accomplishes necessary reporting process, such as schedule and Test and Inspection Plan (T.I.P) updates.
:Accurately interprets and preforms work in accordance with designated Process Control Procedure(s) (PCP) and/or Enhanced Process Control Procedure(s) (EPCP).
:Conducts interviews, performance reviews, and discipline of assigned personnel in compliance established company guidance.
:Other duties as may be assigned.
Experience and Knowledge:
:Minimum of 10 years experience as a welder/fitter within the marine and/or shipyard industry.
:Demonstrated positions of management and conflict resolution.
:Demonstrates familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items, NSTM Chapter 248 and 278 as well as all company welding procedures.
:Possess general computer skills.
:Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
General Information:
PCE is an at will company.

Are subject to security background screening and must be able to obtain and maintain required/necessary security clearance(s).
Most positions require the potential employee to be a US resident. Proof required upon hire.
Overtime may be required in support of company objectives though it is NOT guaranteed.
Travel outside the local area (which may be on short notice) for extended periods of time may be required.
