Job Description The Company Personiv is recruiting on behalf of First Insurance Company of Hawaii, or FICOH, the oldest and largest property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Hawaii. The Role The Business Systems Analyst II is the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders, and is responsible for planning, elicitation, and documentation of business requirements for small to medium levels of complexities, for defects, enhancements and regulatory requirements of transaction processing systems supporting the commercial and personal lines of business. The BA II will effectively communicate change requirements with business stakeholders, assigned IT resources and supports the quality assurance team with the review of detailed test plans ensuring all business and system interests are covered. Responsibilities Leads and facilitates joint working sessions with business stakeholders to elicit and clarify and define business requirements for all levels of application change request complexities requested by business stakeholders. Documents and communicates business requirements following FICOH established standard templates, and procedures for all levels of development, enhancement and regulatory requirements of automated and manual systems. Communicates business requirements through working sessions with ITS application development and Quality Assurance teams. Review Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) and test plans and cases for comprehensiveness. Presents timely and accurate system change status updates, facilitates discussion on impact to time and costs for scope changes, resource contention and other areas which might delay project delivery. Interfaces with other departments affected by the development, maintenance, and implementation of automated and manual systems. As needed, conducts system test for processing applications, system discrepancies, corrections, and enhancements. Assists in the study, recommendations, and resolutions of small to medium complexity levels of processing problems. Assists in the development and delivery of training for end users. Qualifications 4-year College Degree Must have 3 to 4 years of relevant experience Advanced proficiency in common office applications such as email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Basic proficiency in systems design or programming with specific skills in (MS Project or similar project management tools; applied knowledge of software development lifecycle (waterfall or agile); Visio (or other workflow toolset) Critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate information and identify root causes in order to design, and test possible solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in the same time span Prior work experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry highly preferred.
